eve player: ye
eve player's buddy: so what is it that you do there?
eve player: everything, pvp, pve, industry, market, and tons of stuff i haven't even tried yet, sorry but it's just to complex for me to explain it, you just need to try it.
eve player's buddy: so like world of worcraft ?
eve player: you mad?! o_0 it's just... like you have here around 40,000 thousand mostly mature players playing together at any given moment in one non-instanced world, there is a free open market that is driven by supply and demand, you have thousands-people strong corporations and alliances and fleet battles that can blow your mind hundrets or even thousands of people strong fleets, how dare you even compare it to WoW! apologize or die s****!!!
eve player's buddy: haha, you're really cracked aren't ya ?
eve player: oh shut up already and get yourself a trial, i have a fleet op now!
eve 2010
eve player's buddy: oh, what is it that you're playing?

Originally by: Karunel CCP using PR companies to avoid addresing the concerns of their (very loyal) fanbase? Where's the CCP that used to hang on IRC channels and have a laugh?
You may not remember it now, maybe most of your employees weren't even here back then but when you released that ****ty POS that was EVE on release only the loyalty of your fanbase and their willingless to believe in your vision allowed you to go on until the game got decent (and in case you don't remember you barely had any marketing budget, it was US who by word of mouth managed to get people to play EVE).
You may think you're beyond that now and that you can stuff your middle finger up our arse but remember that at the end of the day EVE is driven by the community, the headlines making thousands of people sign up are usually consequence of player actions and the very core of the economy is driven by demand by your most loyal and hardcore players, the 0.0 alliances.
It's still your boat but it may be one we long time fans may not be willing to ride any more and trust me it's your best hands on deck you'll be losing when we go.
